Well.... Field Day 2009 has come, and gone! What a relief!
As usual, the preparation and setup
work was hard, and the NW Georgia June weather was all we have come to expect: HOT!!!!!
Band conditions were BAD
this year, and it cut into our contact numbers considerably. Other Field Day operations I have spoken to and have heard about
were similarly affected.
We made a total of 141 contacts; 32 CW and 109 Phone.
We had 64 points scored
from CW contacts, 109 points from Phone contacts, for a total of 173 points. This score is doubled due to our x2 power modifier
for using non-commercial power sources.
Total contact points of 346 is added to 870 bonus points (earned for a
variety of non-contact reasons) for a grand total of 1216 points!
